Europa Bar & Restaurant
About This Spot
Walking into Europa Bar & Restaurant, you’re gently embraced by a warmth that feels both inviting and unpretentious—a gathering spot where the rhythm slows just enough to savor meaningful conversation over a shared meal. The soft hum of friendly chatter meets the subtle clinking of glassware, setting a tone that’s comfortably lively yet relaxed, making it easy to settle in whether you’re with a small group or celebrating a special moment in the privacy of their thoughtfully arranged spaces.
The heart of this place truly lies in its thoughtful approach to Portuguese flavors, reflected in dishes that arrive brimming with fresh, vibrant ingredients and a sense of tradition. There’s a genuine feeling that every plate is meant to be shared, encouraging connection—think of rich, saffron-tinged rice nestled alongside tender seafood, or the playful embrace of garlic-spiked shrimp paired with the day’s catches. The food unravels gently, inviting you to linger over conversation and perhaps a glass of sangria or an expertly made espresso.
Europa’s setting feels like a home away from home within Elizabeth’s bustling streets, blending the comfort of a neighborhood eatery with the subtle sophistication of a place that honors its roots with authenticity and care. It’s easy to imagine the bustle of a lively gathering, the easy warmth of laughter mingling with the aromas wafting from the kitchen. Here, meals unfold at their own pace, where the people around you—both guests and staff—add to the genuine, unhurried atmosphere.
What stays with you after a visit is less about flash and more about the steady, heartfelt dedication to hospitality—a sense that every element, from the crusty Portuguese rolls perfect for sauce-dipping to that rich, textured dessert tray wheeled to the table, is part of a bigger experience. Europa Bar & Restaurant invites you to step inside, not just for a meal, but for a moment carved out to enjoy food and company in equal measure.

We had a group from our church dine here when visiting Elizabeth, it was a group of 13 and we had reserved in advance. Appetizers, dinner and dessert were very good, all our guests commented that the food was excellent, the waiters were friendly and helpful and the space well set-up.

I Had a great dining experience. I started off with the salted cod croquettes and they were the best I’d ever tasted. Then we ate the Seafood Stuffed Shrimp and the lamb chops topped off with some Sangria. Both entrees were super delicious. I loved the side of freshly French-fried potatoes. Tres leches for dessert to top it all off. Best part was our conversation with another table and the fast and friendly customer service.

Authentic Portuguese cuisine! Daily specials available. Love the white sangria. My husband enjoys the grilled octopus. The shrimp and churico appetizer was so tasty and great for dipping the Portuguese rolls in the sauce. When you order an entree- you have choice of salad or soup. Dessert tray is presented after your meal. Loved the Serradura ~ Portuguese Sawdust Pudding! Expresso and cappuccino are great. Servers attentive and friendly. Typically just walk in and are immediately seated. Haven’t made reservations. Parking on site.

I had a discount coupon so discovered this place and decided to try it. I made reservations for 6:30pm. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. We were greeted at the door and decided to eat at the bar. For drinks I ordered the red sangria and it was very good. For entrées I got the boneless sirloin steak and my friend ordered the garlic chicken. We enjoyed both our meals. I could of done without the mashed potatoes becauase they were hard and had no flavor. My steak was cooked great and was tender. When we were about to pay the manager who served us, Paul, made a couple mistakes with the bill but quickly rectified it. We had a good experience.
